Erosion Repair Services

Geotec Tube Erosion Control Advantages:

Our erosion control techniques are helping to meet the growing demand for cost effective shoreline erosion repair.
Because of past unrestricted dredging by developers for fill to build upon, shoreline erosion has affected most all developments, homeowners associations, golf courses, and private residences throughout the southern United States.

Shoreline Repair, Erosion Control,
Land Stabilization, & Environmental Preservation

Our Erosion Control Geotec Tube is a sturdy polypropylene geotextile (woven or non-woven) that has been engineered specifically for shoreline erosion control. Our geotextile technology offers an affordable solution for dealing with shoreline restoration, erosion control, land stabilization and environmental preservation. Working on the basic principle of containment, dewatering and consolidation, the Geotec Tube stabilizes the underlying shoreline and creates a barrier against further erosion. Our eco-friendly geotextile tube technology restores your shoreline to its original condition while increasing soil stability, promoting drainage, and providing long lasting erosion control.

Property owners, golf course superintendents, lake managers, and government agencies eager to improve their lakes and shorelines while controlling expenses have found the Geotec Tube to be the perfect solution. With current budgets being tighter than ever, the Geotec Tube has proven to be the most cost effective method of erosion control while providing the greatest natural aesthetics.

Our shoreline restoration technique involves recycling sand and organic material from the adjacent body of water. This removes the need to bring in costly material and the potential of damage caused by heavy equipment. Once the shoreline has been completely restored any type of foliage can be planted and it can be safely walked on or driven on by machinery. Our Erosion Control experts will design and create the perfect landscape that you desire!

Every year, erosion causes millions of dollars worth of damage to the shorelines of public and private properties. Without adequate protection, this progression of degrading land can cause very significant and costly damage. So please browse our site and learn about how Erosion Restoration can restore your properties natural charm and prevent further erosion.

Our Erosion Restoration Expertise:

The Florida Water Management Districts (FWMD) has "set the standard" regarding the installation of ALL methods of erosion repair. Studies have shown that the Geotec Tube system is the most cost effective long-term option accepted by the SFWMD. Having proven itself over many years. ASR has decided to focus primarily on the Geotec Tube system.

ASR has a working relationship with engineers from the Florida Water Management Districts through out the State of Florida. ASR values this relationship and will continue to meet or exceed their specs for the Geotec-Tube method of shoreline maintenance.

American Shoreline Restoration is proud to offer the Geotec Tube Erosion Control System. At 25% of the cost of conventional bulkheads or seawalls, the Geotec Tube is the most cost effective and environmentally responsible shoreline erosion control system available.

Shoreline erosion is a serious issue in Florida, and continues to grow worse due to poor lake development standards, hurricanes and heavy rain. Erosion control is easily solved by installation of the Geotec Tube erosion control system. Shoreline stability is also easily achieved by the installation of the Geotec Tube erosion control system.

The Geotec Tube is constructed from the highest quality Polypropylene non-woven geotextile sewn together to form a custom diameter tube. The tube is interconnected along the waters edge, then a small sand pump is used to fill the tube with the same sand and organic material that has been eroding into the lake or canal. The final result is a long lasting fully contained sand filter barrier that will stabilize the bank from erosion and filter rainwater and irrigation run off.

The Geotec Tube erosion barrier can be installed on any shoreline contour or stacked pyramid fashion to create a more substantial barrier to protect against soil erosion during heavy rains. Once the Geotec Tube is sodded, the durability and life span is unlimited. Shoreline restoration is easy to obtain and erosion control has never been more simple.

Erosion control is the practice of preventing or controlling wind or water erosion in agriculture, land development and construction. This sometimes involves the creation of a physical barrier, such as vegetation or rock, to absorb some of the energy of the wind or water that is causing the erosion. Effective erosion controls are important techniques in preventing water pollution and soil loss. Erosion control may arise in natural areas, agricultural settings or urban environments, the latter of which is often characterized as storm water runoff driven. On construction sites they are often implemented in conjunction with sediment controls such as sediment basins and silt fences.

What exactly is dredging and why is it important? After some research I got a general idea of what dredging entailed, and the reason why it is done. “Dredging is an excavation activity or operation usually carried out at least partly underwater, in shallow seas or fresh water areas with the purpose of gathering up bottom sediments and disposing of them at a different location.” For example, dredging is often used on beaches to replenish sand that has been lost due to coastal erosion. Beach erosion is one of the most common, and usually more severe, examples of erosion since essentially the beach itself is a shoreline connecting land and water. Thus, water movement against a landform can cause erosion.

Other common reasons for dredging are maintenance (maintain navigable waterways and lakes after too much sediment and silt is built up), land reclamation (“dredging is used to mine sand, clay or rock from the seabed and using it to construct new land elsewhere,”) containment remediation (“reclaim areas that have been affected by chemical spills or storm water surges and other soil contaminations,”) and removing trash and debris (removing non-natural material from lakes).

The dredging process is done with a dredge device, which there are multiple dredge devices and all depend on the job scope. There are suction dredgers which operate like large vacuum cleaners, and there are different kinds of suction dredgers which also depend on the job scope. For example, cutter-section dredgers are used for hard surfaces like rock or gravel, and the more powerful the cutter, the easier it is to excavate hard surfaces without having to blast anything. Hopper dredges are used to remove excess water when dredging so the amount of sediment being removed isn’t as heavy and can contain more slurry. When the hopper is full, it carries all the sediment/slurry to a dump site and it is released from the hopper. It’s almost like crane machines, but used more specifically for maintenance dredging.

As already explained, dredging is one method for erosion repair, however it is for more extreme erosion (like on beaches). The overall dredging process is not typically used for typical shoreline erosion control like on golf courses, community lakes and private homeowners. The Geotec Tube , for example, is a better erosion control solution in those instances.

Erosion Control is necessary because  wind and water often act with devastating effect on human life and property.  These effects can be delivered as suddenly as a hurricane, or with equal devastation over a period of time as tide, river current, or storm water runoff erode land and property.

American Shoreline Restoration is experienced in working with civilian and government engineers on both small and large projects to ensure the best erosion control products are planned and installed.

Successful erosion control example.  The benefit's of carefully planned aesthetic erosion control prevention is evident in American Shoreline Restoration project in all across the South East USA.

Erosion Control & Reclamation

Erosion Reclamation.  When prevention fails, reclamation measures must be undertaken to restore a safe and useful habitat.  American Shoreline Restoration is an experienced provider of reclamation services.

Shoreline Renovation.  American Shoreline Restoration is experienced with large and small scale shore renovation and reclamation.  The past decade has produced devastating storms along Florida's Gulf coast.  American Shoreline Restoration's main office in Palm Beach Florida is trained, staffed, and equipped to handle these needs.

Pervious Pavers, Geotextiles, and Bio-Mass are the Center of our Technological Solutions

Innovative erosion control products.  As urban density increases, Civil engineers and building architects face an increasing challenge in storm water management and erosion prevention.

Innovative erosion control products are helping civil engineers and building architects combat the unwanted effects of wind and water and stabilize construction environments.

Three distinct erosion control product groups form the foundation of the technical solution.

American Shoreline Restoration is expert in the design and implementation of state-of-the art products to achieve a functional, permanent, and aesthetic solution to erosion control challenges.
